Sheriff Sales & Civil Process

Civil Process Service Fees (new rates effective 01/01/2026)

All papers to be served require pre-payment.

• $100 - for an individual to be served per case number.
• $50 - for any/each additional person to be served at the same address. The case number must be the same case number as the first individual to be served.
• $100 - Writ of Restitution/Replevin/Assistance **Indemnity Bond required**
• $150 - for posting and conducting a foreclosure sale
• $100 - Warrant Service

 

SHERIFF SALES

Sheriff sales are held in the lobby of the Rusk County Sheriff's Office (unless otherwise noted) at 311 Miner Avenue E. Ladysmith, WI 54848

Sale Participation:

A 10% down payment in the form of certified funds is required at the time of the sale of the foreclosed property. The down payment must be made in cash or certified bank check made out to the Rusk County Clerk of Courts. PERSONAL CHECKS CANNOT AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Suggestion: Have certified funds in the amount of 10% of what you intend to be your maximum bid with you when you attend the sale.
