Land & Water Conservation

The goal of our department is to foster and support a locally led process that improves decision making, streamlines administration, and maximizes local, state, and federal funds to protect Wisconsin’s soil and water resources.

The Rusk County Land & Water Conservation Division offers technical and, in some cases financial, assistance for a wide variety of projects related to agriculture, water resources, wildlife habitat, and shoreline restoration.  Call the office to get answers and advice on your natural resource needs.

Land & Water Conservation Satellite Offices

Satellite offices are back! A staff member from Rusk County LWCD will be present in local communities to offer assistance on natural resource management, conservation, and agriculture. Every week, staff will be available from 1-5 P.M. at the Sheldon Community Center on Tuesdays and the Bruce Village Hall on Thursdays. Come join us to start a conversation! For questions call (715) 532-2162 or email lwcd@ruskcountywi.us
