Recycling Bins for Special Events
Festivals – Sporting Events – Fairs – Picnics – Reunions – Parades

Special events entertain Wisconsin residents as well as benefit local communities and special interest groups. For most people, special events are a lot of fun, but for event organizers, they are a lot of work! A well-planned event requires cooperation, coordination, dedication, and attention to details. One important detail is managing all the trash and recyclables that a special event generates.

Why recycle at Large Events?
It’s the Law! Wisconsin requires everyone in the state to recycle at home, at work and at special events.

People expect to recycle
Reduced trash with potential costs savings on garbage
Shows consideration for your Community
Sets a good example for children
Makes events cleaner
Conserves Resources

What bins should I use?

The Rusk County Recycling Department rents both ClearStream and “Works of Art” bins out for FREE! Just fill out a bin request and email or send it back to the office to reserve your bins for your upcoming events. The Clearstream bins include a wire frame and plastic lid along with clear bags to use so people can easily tell what should go in them. Tent stakes are available to secure them to the ground. For indoor events, bases are provided. The “Works of Art” bins are 32 gallon containers that have been painted by “Toadally Artsy Kids” that will give your event the artistic touch. They an be used indoors or outdoors.

Place the bins near trash bins throughout the event area. Make sure you have volunteers to monitor the bins for contamination and to empty them when full. Many times civic or youth groups will do this for you if they can keep the aluminum cans as a fundraiser.
